These Seastar controls are one of the world's most popular brand of remote control systems for the marine industry. With the combination of robust and stylish designs, as well as great after sales back up, these units will provide you with long and reliable service. Dual action engine controls, are those that have a single lever providing both throttle and gear control. Several styles and configurations are available to suit your individual application. They are all compatible with the 33C style cables and come complete with fittings to attach the controls and cables together. They all can be mounted left or right handed, can be used in dual station applications (with optional D.S. Exchangers), and will only allow gears to be engaged if the RPM's are low, thus protecting your gearbox. They are not suitable for mechanical gearboxes, or engines with high governer loads. All materials used are non-corrosive and are not affected by the elements. They all have mechanisms to dis-engage the gear function, allowing you to warm up your engine at higher RPM's. The Reverse-Neutral-Forward detents give a positive, crisp feel to the operator, as well as an easy, instinctive action.
The MT-3 Series has been the industry standard for many years, with a high quality, chrome plated finish over diecast zinc alloy. The handle pulls away from the housing to dis-engage the gear function, and an optional neutral safety switch is available to prevent starting unless the gearbox is in neutral.
